Jackie Mallon

Jackie Mallon

Biography

Since graduating from London’s CSM with a Masters in Womenswear, NYC-based Jackie Mallon has worked in the fashion industry, first as a designer in Milan with Giorgio Armani and Moschino, then in the US as a writer, educator and illustrator. The luxury industry helped hone Jackie’s artistic skills and develop an appreciation for the transporting effect of illustration. Jackie loves to sprinkle that runway magic through her 10-minute sketches of guests at live events, editorial of a just-released luxury cosmetics line, or when penning personalized brand assets in her contemporary calligraphy style. Her clients include Prada, Nordstrom and Stella McCartney and her work has been published in Bloomsbury university textbooks and in magazines such as Goldfoil, Lazin, and Marie Claire Turkey.

Combining a former designer’s eye for detail with an obsession for line and an appreciation of a dynamic ink wash, she aims for a synergy of speed, style and storytelling. In the words of Oscar Wilde, “Spontaneity is a meticulously prepared art,” and although adept at digital sketching, Jackie works primarily by hand so as not to second guess herself. She believes a hand-drawn image aligns with industry efforts to slow fashion down and prioritize the human behind the creation.
