Biography

Sylwia Lewandowska is a fashion designer and illustrator from Poland. She is also a graduate of International School of Costume and Fashion Design in Warsaw and Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź.
Her passion for drawing, costume films and the history of fashion influenced her professional life. While studying Fashion Design, she paid more attention to drawing models and discovered her passion for figures, faces and textiles. Focusing on the fabric, texture, anatomy, and chiaroscuro gave her the most satisfaction. That's why she decided to try her hand at fashion illustration.
Currently, since 2017 she has been a lecturer in Fashion Drawing at MSKPU. What's more she worked as a freelance illustrator with Polish brands: Weave, Louisse, Szymanska, MKTP, Kulik, Endorfinella, Tom Sebastien, blog www.elegancefeminine.com and Fashionable English.
In her work, she prefers a combination of realism with classic manual techniques. Also her style evolves and opens up to experimental techniques and abstract effect. Her workshop is full of quill pens, fineliners, inks and promarkers. She occasionally creates digital drawings and quick live sketches.
Her beloved artists are Alphonse Mucha, Egon Schiele, Leon Bakst, Kenneth Paul Block and Rene Gruau.
