I was born in Genoa, Italy, in 1981, and began my venture into the world of art at the Nicolò Barabino art school. Later on, I took a detour to study Literature and Archaeology at the University of Genoa, pausing my creative endeavours for a while. My move to Belfast more than a decade ago, however, reignited my love for drawing and painting.
I have a passion for fashion and history of art but most of all portraiture which I try to pour into my art. To me, portraiture isn't just about capturing figures. It delves into understanding and showcasing the very essence and story of a person, accentuated by a touch of their personal style. In my portraits, I aim to blend elements of the subject's character with subtle hints of fashion, painting a holistic picture of their personality.
I love to adapt and experiment, using a range of techniques. From charcoal sketches to acrylic and gouache, my toolkit is diverse. Lately, I've been venturing into the realm of digital illustration and even started dabbling in animation. I try to make my pieces stand out with their bold strokes, dreamlike details, and vibrant hues, aiming to breathe life into every subject. My ultimate goal is to establish a deep connection between the viewer and the portrait, celebrating the uniqueness and beauty of individuality and style.
