Biography

Born in Vietnam, I was adopted at 6 months and have been living in France since then. Growing up i've felt uprooted and struggled a lot with my identity. That's why I was so fascinated by fashion creators such as John Galliano or Alexander McQueen who were able to create a whole unique world with a strong identity playing with fabric, volumes, patterns, textures and colors. I realized fashion could be art. Discovering the world of fashion led me to discover the world of fashion illustration and the works of Antonio Lopez and René Gruau. This new-found passion enabled me to come out of my shell and develop my own unique personality which reflects in my works by a strong sense of line, the use and experimentation of multiple techniques (ballpoint, watercolor, pencil, oil painting, collage, stitching fabric...) to create different textures and the use of void/ empty space. I want my work to express elegance, poetry and emotions that I've felt. I also want to claim fashion illustration and fashion as an art by itself just as paintings.
