I reconnected with drawing again a few years ago after studying art foundation and then BA (Hons) photography at university. More recently I've studied illustration and enjoy the freedom this affords in picture making, from simple sketches to manipulated imagery and collage. I work in a range of traditional media like pencils, charcoal, gouache but I'm also incorporating digital techniques subtly into my practice. Portraits, figurative work and especially faces, are my favourite subjects. My influences include vintage fashion and couture, the Blitz kids, modern art, music, photography and cinema.
