Biography
Rebecca Hillery-Tong is a London based Fashion Designer and Artist/Illustrator. She trained in Fine Art and Fashion Design (BA) at the prestigious Kingston University in UK.
With a career spanning 30 years as a professional fashion designer, in 2019 Rebecca reignited her passion for figurative art by regular life drawing sessions. During lockdown in 2020 she began to create fashion illustration and present her art online. Her work is underpinned by extensive knowledge of fashion design and encompasses editorial, beauty and brand concept.
She takes inspiration from the worlds of fashion and contemporary art, with a bold, expressive figurative style with experimental use colour. She likes to work fast and spontaneously using mixed media, sometimes blending hand drawn images with digital finishes.
In 2023 Rebecca was invited by FIDA to sketch live at London Fashion Week, capturing backstage moments and the excitement of the catwalk, speed sketching in real time.
The artist has recently exhibited a collection of artworks: 'Fashion Faces' at DiSH cafe/gallery in SE London, UK.
Rebecca currently works solely as a freelance artist.
She has been a FIDA worldwide exclusive member since 2021.
