Biography
Attracted by the powerful energy of the fashion subject, Silvana sketches memorable impressions of clothes’s characters: while their colors and forms reshape the human body, they become media for self expression and mirror of people's stories.
Always aiming to balance between consistency and renovation, the illustrative style in use by Open Toe Illustration sprouted at the advent of touch tablet technology. Slightly evolved giving texture to the sign, it still retains the original refreshing taste for minimal compositions and color blocks.
Daughter of a painter, Silvana was educated in art from an early age and introduced to graphic design by the NABA Academy. Fascinated by textile, she trained in illustration attending courses and workshops with illustrators, designers and art directors.
During her constant research of better (digital) tools and fine-tuning for print, she had the pleasure to draw for her favourite magazines (Vogue, L’Officiel, Flaunt - among others) and beloved maisons (such as Missoni and Pomellato). The illustrations have been exhibited at some beautiful locations in Milan, where she currently works
